Lancaster County Young Artists Exhibition

The Demuth Museum is pleased to announce it will host, for the first time, the Lancaster County Young Artists Exhibit along with The Lancaster Museum of Art and Mulberry Art Studios. The Lancaster County Young Artists, formerly known as the Scholastic Art Awards, encourages young artists in grades 7 through 12 to cultivate their creativity and nurture a passion for art. Over 4,000 works of art are submitted to a panel of professional artists and educators which juries the exhibit. Ultimately, the work of 1,000 young artists from Lancaster city and county are showcased. The Demuth Museum will feature the Silver Medal winners from Junior High as well as, thanks to Fulton Banks sponsorship, host the Awards Ceremony on Sunday, March 7, 2010.

The exhibit will be on view in three separate locations:
- The Demuth Museum will feature Jr. High Silver and 2D Awards and the Awards Ceremony on Sunday, March 7th.
- Lancaster Museum of Art will feature Jr. & Sr. High Gold and Special Awards.
- Mulberry Art Studios will feature Sr. High Silver and Exhibit Awards.

An opening reception will be held in conjunction with First Friday festivities on March 5 from 5-7 pm. The Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 7 at the Demuth Museum companion space, 116 East King Street. Museum Hours for this exhibition are: Tuesday Saturday, 10-4 and Sundays, Noon-4. If you are planning a visit with a group of 10 or more, please contact the museum at least two weeks prior to schedule your visit.
